Owned by sports governing body British Cycling, ‘Let’s ride’ is an online social community for anybody who is interested in cycling, from the novice to the expert. Its objective is to encourage and champion cycling as a sport and a recreational activity. Member-generated content allows users to discover and join bike rides all around the UK, as well as find like-minded cycle hobbyists.
Challenge:
The previous website suffered from lack of direction resulting in a poor UX and a number of functionality failures. Budget restrictions prevented a full rebuild.
Solution:
Inheriting the existing website, we began with a rewrite in the back-end of key areas where UX was poor, improving navigation and interface issues. We fixed functionality issues with new code and scripts, and deployed a new front-end for the key, public-facing pages, with the overall objective of increasing uptake and participation.
